motePLC

The motePLC is a Programmable Loop Controller capable of sending and receiving Modbus RTU messages over an RS-485 network. The motePLC can be used to read analog or digital inputs and can control analog or digital outputs.
The motePLC has four inputs that can be used as digital or analog points. Jumpers on the board allow settings of 0-5 volts, 0-10 volts, 4-20mA and 10K temperature sensors. The inputs can be configured as counters, analog or digital. In addition, the inputs can utilize a pre-configured temperature or pressure table. Each can be independently calibrated and averaged.
The motePLC has four outputs that can be used as analog or digital outputs. Each output is able to source a maximum of 175mA with the entire card being limited to 175mA total. Additional load will result in thermal cycling until the condition is ended, high temperatures may occur in this situation.
The motePLC provides for 32 variables to be available. These variables are used for PID loop calculations or for storage of variables on the network. In the event of power loss, the variables will be stored to flash for data retention up to 40 years.
PID LOOPS
There are six PID loops available for configuration on each motePLC. The PID loops are local routines that must use the inputs, outputs, or variables within the motePLC. Each PID loop is executed 1 time per second with one PID loop running every 1/6 of a second.
TABLES
The motePLC comes preprogrammed with tables. These tables allow the user to choose a table for an input and the input will be converted using the attached tables.
